In total, about 320,000 Chevrolet Impala, 2009 or 2010, are recalled by GM. In Canada, were 20 000 cars are affected. Indeed, the Impala are recalled, possibly because there are deficiencies in connection with safety belts in front seats of the car accident.
The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety, which happens to be the U.S. federal agency that deals with road safety, says on its website that some models of 2009 and 2010 Chevrolet Impala does not satisfy the safety standards required.
In fact, seat belts may not have been properly secured to the attachment point on the side of the vehicle near the door. The consequence is that the seat belts may not restrain the driver or passenger in an accident that could injure occupants.
The solution is simple: Dealers will inspect the two safety belts in front seats to ensure they are properly set, and if necessary, they must reinstall the belts and their anchorages. The audit is free.
The recall involves Impala Sedan 2009 and 2010.
