Spy Shots: Subaru FT-86 was again ... is the STI?
Toyota has been stealing all the limelight with her portrayal of the company's future cooperation with Subaru recently. What with news that the car can actually cost more than $ 25.000 and are listed under the banner of Scion, the interwebs have been ablaze with talk of "coupe Yota. Meanwhile, the word half of the equation Subaru has left little some spy shots and little else.
Well, we can add another handful of photos from the Pleiades badged coupe to the mix. Our ninjas Spyshot equipped with cameras have managed to capture a few photos of the Subaru for our test mule, and this time it seems that the engineers are working hard to play with a variant of STI. Why say that? Feast your eyes bulging hood and front mount intercooler. These two pieces, but all the screaming high-po, and they are our first indication that the flat-four power-wheel-drive coupe will be available with a propulsion system that offers something north of 300 horsepower. From now on, is anyone's guess as to when we expect to see either the FT-86 or equivalent from Subaru at the scene, but early reports are saying 2012 is a good possibility. Get excited.
