Several fans and consumers complain that Europe and other target markets are the only ones able to purchase the new Volkswagen Scirocco. Since the rebirth of the famous small car, the monks of Wolfsburg continue to see as a potential threat to our beloved GTI, which explains their low intention to export to North America.
However, now that Jonathan Browning directs operations of Volkswagen United States, things could change - perhaps not as fast as some would like. He said he would love to see the Scirocco on U.S. soil and, if necessary, the wishes of Canadians would be fulfilled at the same time. Although it operates independently, the Canadian branch of Volkswagen could not justify the importation of the car only for our market.
The current model is old just two years, but it seems it will take to the next generation if the company ever decides to give the green light. Taking into account the average length of a generation at Volkswagen Scirocco this future probably not happen until three years - say in 2014 for model year 2015.
